Every week, a few of Koreaboo's staff members will share their favorite song of the week with readers! The Korean music scene is filled with all types of music and many artists' songs definitely do not get the attention they deserve.
Through Koreaboo's Staff Picks of the Week, our staff members will suggest many different kinds of music and songs that are both new and popular. Hopefully, these picks can introduce new songs to K-Pop fans around the world.
This week's recommendations include SHINee, B1A4, 2PM, Bang Yongguk, Supernova, TVXQ, Rain, SISTAR, and Epik High.
Let us know what you think of our picks and what you'd recommend!

SHINee’s “Forever or Never” (1st studio album “A.Mi.Go” repackaged)
SHINee's cutesy "Hello" not your thing? Or are you afraid to like a song called "Lucifer"? If you think SHINee is all about appealing to fangirls through songs like "Replay," no worries.
"Forever or Never" is a refreshing contrast to their standard promotional songs. Originally an English song by a band called Cinema Bizarre, SHINee showcases a more mature-side in "Forever or Never," where it defies the traditional K-Pop sound. Coming from their 2008 debut album, I recommend this song as it helped me realize that SHINee is not your typical boy band.

SISTAR’s “So Cool” (1st studio album “So Cool”)
SISTAR has released yet another hit track. "So Cool" follows along with their concept of upbeat dance tracks. Just like their previous title tracks, "So Cool," is a track that gives a message from a girl to a guy. "So Cool" is about the girl becoming "cool" after breaking up with the guy and how there will never be any other girl like her.
In addition to the catchy lyrics of the song ("Yeah I feel so cool cool, yeah I feel so e e e"), the live performances are also fun to watch. Most of all though, I'm enjoying SISTAR's concept. It's refreshing to see a girl group with a concept featuring clothing that people would wear normally. "So Cool" has also been doing well on the music charts.

Bang Yongguk's "I Remember" (1st digital single "I Remember")
I can't get enough of this song, only because of Bang Yongguk's voice~. It's rare to find rappers in K-Pop who are truly rappers and Bang Yongguk is one of them. Korean rap is amazing, so seeing it in the general scene of K-Pop is great. Hopefully this just marks the start of all rappers in groups being true rappers, like Block B's Zico and Bang Yongguk. I wasn't sure how the collaboration with Yoseob would go since I didn't really know about Yoseob's voice, but it's great too~.

2PM's "??? (Don't You Know)" (2nd studio album “Hands Up”)
I'm a huge fan of 2PM, so I was ecstatic when they announced in June that they were going to release a full length album later that month. Some of the songs on the new album had been released in mini albums they released in 2010; however, the new songs all offered a nice assortment of what 2PM has to offer the K-Pop industry.
My current favorite song from "Hands Up" right now is "Don't You Know." I love all the songs on the album, but I especially love the old school feel that the song has to offer. It actually reminds me of an old school version of "Tired of Waiting" from their first album, "1:59PM." To me, "Don't You Know" is a very lighthearted song and it always seems to cheer me up when I'm feeling down. I highly recommend this song if you're a fan of songs like H.O.T's "Candy."

TVXQ’s “?? (Mirotic)” (4th studio album “Mirotic”)
TVXQ's "Mirotic" is a song that's from the good old K-Pop days when then there were way less boy bands and even less girl groups. However, its addictive beat still draws many people in. The lyrics and overall music video mood may be questionable in terms of its "provocative and overly sexual" qualities, as expressed by the Korean Commission of Youth Protection.
However, this classic hit drove many fans crazy with the line "I've got you under my skin" and the greatly revealing outfits of each member. The song itself is one that is addicting and prone to being played over and over again on music players. It's perfect for dancing to in clubs or wild dance parties, or just with friends. Although this song represents what can be seen as TVXQ's epoch in their music career, with "all kills" on every music chart back in 2008, new K-Pop fans are sure to fall in love with the song and with the vocal and dance power group that is TVXQ with one listen.

Rain’s “Busan Woman” (digital single “Busan Woman”)
When asked to recommend a track to our Koreaboo readers, there was only one song in mind that I had to suggest – and I have been humming along to it while writing this piece.
For the past few days, there were only a couple of Korean songs that I had on replay and the one who came out on top this week was Rain's "Busan Woman." I don't care about the plagiarism accusations, Rain has definitely won me over this track. It just goes to prove that a song, promoted or not, does not need a heavy digital input nor catchy dance moves. The song was simple but catchy. It's that one side of Rain that I miss and it has the vibe of his old tracks "With U" and "I Do" which makes me love it even more.

Epik High’s “One” (5th studio album “Pieces. Part One”)
I love this song because it was the first song that allowed me to understand how music transcends all barriers, including language. I also love this song because it is everything I love about Epik High, from their amazing talent at music and their way of translating that music across all genres of audiences, to the song's very core meaning of giving hope, or being given hope, in times of struggle!

Supernova's "Superstar" (1st Korean single "Superstar")
To be completely honest, I didn't even know where to start when searching for a K-Pop recommendation. There are so many great songs out there, that I would only be giving you something you'd probably already have heard a thousand times before. That being said, give me the best song of this year and it would be easier to pick out, but Korea has more than 2011's songs alone.
Nearly 3 years ago, I had my first K-Pop song addiction, and it still lasts up to the point that I can still easily listen to this song a dozen times a day. Is it old? If we're speaking in terms of K-Pop music, yeah sure, but after all these years it's still as awesome to me as it was before. A group put together by 3 great singers and 3 awesome rappers, who manage to give every member enough screen time is rare. Even though they're currently getting to the top in Japan, Supernova really should make a decent comeback soon, they're too awesome to be forgotten.

B1A4's "Only One" (1st EP “Let’s Fly High”)
With the many idol groups making their debut lately, I've noticed that I have gotten pickier in listening to new groups and very few will get my attention. One of the groups that has caught my attention is B1A4. Cruising in my car one day, B1A4's "Only One" started playing from my mp3 player. This is a song I had yet to listen to from their EP, and now I have completely fallen in love with the song.
"Only One" is a wonderful mid-tempo ballad that really showcases B1A4's passion and the rap by Baro balances the song very well with his deep voice. For anyone who needs inspiration and support for your dreams, this song is definitely appropriate to listen to for that extra push.
"I pray no tears in your dreams. I know you’ll fly high in your life."
